If i may point out a mistake my very good friend philippe made in his early comment, it was "love god" and not "young god"; young god beeing a reasonably good industrial band, but anyway, this mistake is fairly forgivable considering the state of mind my friend and i were in that night. and yes, a man did get shot before our eyes.
cranes keep blowing my mind.

I herd the Cranes becouse I knew they were opening for
the cure in sacramento. The guy at the record store were
I bought the tickets said the singer sounded like a 3 year
old girl. I have always sang this way and we bought the
C.d. wings of joy.
I was hooked and very glad to see them when they arived.
I like the new album very much.Sweet unknown is my favorite
song on it. I always like the slow songs best. Its the int
intence moments and alisons voice. I also love the lyrics.
I only like songs wich have somthing to say. This one
I could also relate to. I can also play alot of the songs
on piano and am working on the gitar for that song.

I met Cranes back in 16th. june 1992 in Cure´s concert in Monterrey, México.
My favorite album is "Loved".
I saw them live again in 1995 in La Diabla, México City, and I'm quite
dissapointed for they didn't come to México with "population four" album
wich would never be my favorite one but I really enjoy listeninig it any time.
I hope, like most of my friends and lots of unknown people for me that they
come back to México some of this nights.
And, my very best friend and I fell in love with Alison since the first
time we saw her in, until now, the greatest night we've spent in our
whole lives. I expect someone of you, other Cranes fans to send me
information about the letters and the way to obtain any kind of copy of
"self non-self".

Great site!! I personnally have not listened to the last cd yet, but after what i've seen here, I think I'll soon buy it :))
I only know 2 cds : self non self and loved(which for me is better than the former).
What I love in Cranes'music is the atmosphere they can give you, the feelings they can make you feel only with music and words.
What a tremendous band!!

Dear Cranes--I'm a bit dubious as to whether you'll ever see this message but having stumbled across your lovely web site I thought I'd take this opportunity to send greetings from myself and the other Rasputinas. We had such a good time opening for you here--thanks again for having us! Hope you had much success on your European tour and that things are rosy all around. Send us a message sometime at our web site (it's somewhere in sony.com, I believe) if you're so inclined. All the best, Julia, et al.

This is any other comments....

I went to this fabulous international movie festival and i saw a movie called "young god". It contains two cranes songs, lilies and Paris and Rome. Just wanted to say that everyone should check out that movie. It's great. The most absurd movie i ever saw. Here's the review:

A young man with chronic reading syndrome ( the desire to read and then destroy the written word) is released from an overcrowded mental instution to encounter a surreal parasite attracted to shiny objects, an obsessively clean mother-and-daughter team who sanitize crime scenes for a living, a roomate afflicted with Tourette's Syndrome, a woman who murders hapless men ad "sacrifices" to the goddess Kali and of course, true love.

the movie is directed by FRank Grow
produced by Good machine
with: Will Keenan, Shannon Burkett, Yukio Yamato, Kerri Kenney, Micheal Laurence
U.S.A. 1997 original version ....18+.....82 min....

Oh! and on the way home....my friend and i saw a man lying on the sidewalk with police cars and ambulance. the guy had been shot by an Hell'S Angel ( biker ). Just something to bring us back to reality after seeing that amazing movie.

BRÀVO to the producer !

first time i saw the cranes was (like the most others) when they played with the cure.
i started listening to them starting from then...last time i saw them was in gent, 1st of june 1997.
thanks to the cure's bathroom and the cranes chat i've met some wonderful people, one of them is sitting next to me right now....
i never thought i would actually meet one of them....but it is so neat. (isn't it arf ??)
i would like to say hello to the others too:arf, ceri, !R, anders, zoie, twilight, francesco, xo, and everybody else of the "chouffe " (hehehe)
ps:chouffe is beer jolie and i drank
lots of love
valerie

hey everyone. wish i could use lots of exclamation points here, but this is some weird european keyboard and it baffles the hell out of me...
never looked at the guestbook before, so i figured it was about time to check it out.
cranes are fabulous, totally wonderful. i'm so glad i was introduced to them. my most recent experience with them was (i think) in march (or was it may??? dunno, something with an 'm' in it). anyway, it was in washington, dc and they were great.
just want to tell everyone from the bathroom and from cranes how happy i am to have met you all on the computer, and to arf and valerie, how wild it was to meet you both in real life.
love to ceri, arf, p, xo, apathy and ~h (good luck to you both, only 2 more days), w ( i miss you), twilight, francesco, and everyone else!!!!!!!!!!! WOW, JUST FOUND THE !!!!!!!!!!! oh well, too late now to go back
okay, so val and i are gonna check out to see if anybody is in cranes or the bathroom, then go listen to some of this fab music at the dour festival!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
love (with hugs and kisses),

I dont speak english very well, but ill do my best, sorry. The first CRANES album ive heard was Wings of Joy. I liked since the first moment. Then i tryed to get any other Cranes album, but in Peru its so hard. I have to go to the black market of cds (call it Galerias Brasil). In that place i found Forever album and the tragedy. I didnt heard the new album, but i knew that it was a limited edition. Many people in Peru (believe it or not) like Cranes and hope see them someday. Goodbye.

i heard in about 1992 that a band named cranes came out with an album. i do believe i heard that on MTV...when they used to play small segments if what has been released that week. i heard about 4 seconds of watersong and fell in love with it. i searched long and hard for a copy of "wings of joy"...i finally found it...i was about 13. now i am 19 and i never stopped loving cranes!

population four was not my bag when i first heard it. but now i listen to it nearly every night. my favorite album must be wings of joy..for adoration is my all time favorite song. i recently picked up the single for that and i really love the other song: brighter.

i cannot wait until they come back to perform in the united states. getting ahold of some of their singles is difficult and expensive being as they are imports for me....but its always worth it. alison, mark, jim, and manu are definitly worth it.

well, the first time i saw cranes was in their opening act for the cure in 1992. they didn't really strike me at the time but since then i have grown quite fond of them. maybe one day i'll actually buy an album instead of snagging tapes from my friends. but i love the chat!! and all the wool people i have met in there. especially in that one private room where all the action's at!

just a little note to myrtle: i looooove you, baby!! you really crack me up sometimes.kids these days, i tell ya!

I'm yet another of those christianed by their opening act for the Cure in '92. . .to this
day I still listen to them on a fairly constant basis (mostly "Forever" and "Wings of Joy".
However --- if anybody out there (in the U.S., though) knows how I can get my grubby
little hands on the likes of a "Self-Non-Self" album, please let me know! (I want a complete
collection, and besides, I'd be so bloody happy, I don't know what I'd do with myself!)
Love you all, love you Mike, love you Ali et Co., peace.

well I'm just one of many people who got into them from seeing the cure.
They blew me away. It was incredible. I could elaborate, but I'm a
bit rushed for time right now, I just wanted to stop in and say that
this site is absolutely fantastic, especially the chat area, where I
had a pleasant time and hope to come back to again soon. I enjoyed my
visit here. See you soon.
