i don't really know how i got to know about this band, but once i heard of cranes it was tremendously awesome and more than i cound say. especially, in seoul, korea, no one hasn't heard anything about the band and not even one single album was released here, so searching though the internet and Morpheus is kinda only way to get to know more about you guys which i think it is kinda sad.

anyways, i am a big fan of the band, please let me know where i could get lyrics of your songs or watch music videos.

keep up making people find you first whenever they get blazed.

When I first heard Cranes, it was on a friend's car stereo. I loved the music and the voice from the very first song I heard.

I am one of many fans in an area of a country where Cranes have not played at since '97. There are many fans in my state who (like any other good concert here) would all make a temporary mecca of whichever cities you chose to play in. We have a large and very devoted scene that, though spread to the 5 corners of the state, has no trouble getting together for shows and events. Many of us have driven 3 to 8 hours to reach a 'nearby' show.

Please come to America soon, please play in Ohio, and please email me if you ever entertain the idea of coming here. I am constantly in contact with the owners of most every good club or venue in the region, I could point you towards some good promoters in the area, and I could also help to promote the living hell out of the show.

So, if you ever come to the States again.. please let me know, and let me know what you would need in order to play.

Hello Cranes!

Just a short email on the back of your gig at Colchester last Wednesday. We had a great time listening to new and old tunes. It is a shame that the undeservedly small crowd strangely decided to remain glued to their chairs (apart from a handful of long standing fans, to whom we belong to).
You seem to be touring all over Europe at the moment, picking some of the best countries to visit with Italy and France.
Let us know if you are touring in France as we'd love to have a good excuse to go (we can't make the Fnac show early November. Anyway, it is usually low key and acoustic versions only).
We can't wait to be in the audience once more.

Keep up the good work!

Tamzin and Frederic

PS: I almost forgot we do have a request. We have been hunting for some of your old CD's for a while as we have only tapes of the following albums: Population 4 and Loved. We can't find them anywhere!! We looked abroad too without luck. Please HELP our overplayed tapes are really worn out!

At 10 o'clock last night, the Cranes strolled onto to the cramped stage at the Colchester Art Centre to play an excellent 80 mintute set before a small but appreciative audience.Despite the odd technical glitch, the band sounded tight and amazing from where i was standing, with the keyboards and Ali's voice in particular sounding impressive swirling around the interior of the church. The songs were performed unintroduced, with Alison not speaking at all untill the introduction of the band well into the set.The only disappointment for me was the omission of their best song,"Sweet Unknown".Picked out by spotlight in the gloom,Alison looked as beautiful as ever, whilst Jim seems to be metamorphosing into Tony Hart by the day !!!.The performance was rounded off with three encores, all of which were thoroughly well deserved.Great band, great show.

The first time I listen to Cranes was in summer 1991 on Radio. If I remember right, they played adoration and tomorrows tears and I went crazy, because I never heard such a voice before and this f**cking DJ didn't say, what's the name of this band. Finally, a few weeks later i listen to the Cranes again and the guy told the name. Cranes? Never heard before this name. So I started my tour through the CD stores and shortly before Christmas I hold my first CD from them in my shakily hands. It was the Wings Of Joy/Self Non Self double CD and played it again and again the next days. In the next years I've seen them several times, but honestly, the gigs weren't as good as the CD's. Ali's voice was very low and the rest was to loudly in comparision. I enjoeyd it not really.
But since the last gig in London in June and primarily yesterday it's completely different. It was such a wonderful night yesterday and I think, the band enjoyed it too. They played two encores, never seen before. After the concert all the band members signed the posters, CD's or whatever and above all, my songbook, which I bought there. Was it her mum, who sold all the T-Shirts and CD's? A very friendly lady.
Sorry if I'm boring you with my thoughts, but i'm still under the strong feeling from yesterday. I also took some pictures yesterday. You can look at them at http://int.pixum.com/viewalbum/?id=179781 . If anyone(maybe for this homepage) want to have the files, please contact me via email (if the email won't work now, try it later again).
So, that's enough for now
Thank you for that great evening.

I would like to take the oportunity to thank you for last night's gig at the Garage, London.
I handn't seen you since 1998, and I frankly got quite emotional.
In any case, is there any chance that you will come back to London (or Milano) around
Cristmas time?
Thank you again,
All the best,
Anna.

I first got into the Cranes when I heard "cloudless" on a college radio station. I thought the song was amazing and bought every lp I could find. I saw the loved tour and was blown away! I'm going to the show at the limelight 10/11..
I was on the guest list a few years ago and wanted to purchase the lyric book but never had the chance to. Is the lyric book still available?

Hi folks! I didn't have the time to check all the comments in the guestbook, but as far as I've seen, a lot of nice & cool people seem to like the Cranes. It's quite a shame, but I have to confess that I don't know them very well. I read about them in a hungarian dark/goth' fanzine, and just thought:"Must be weird" Well, after listening to some of those songs in the audio section, I wasn't disappointed. Sadly, I'm dealing with the same problems like some others in the guestbook: you simply can't get anything from the Cranes here in Hungary.Anyway, thank you for existing, and - connecting to one foreign guest (if I'm right, he was from Russia): sorry for my english ... but I'm drunk. One last drop of a line to any hungarian girl or guy, who might read these lines:
"Azt mondják, a Kis Herceg is Cranes-t hallgatott."
Never, never grow up!

i have loved the cranes since 1994-- when i was in college. often, i couldn't understand the words, but it didn't really matter. my best friend (who i met online) introduced me to them... and even now-- though things are terribly hard for both of us... we e-mail each other lyrics... i have some serious medical problems... and he has emotional problems. if something were to happen to me, i would have them play cranes music at my funeral.... i guess this sounds far-fetched-- but it is the truth. it is amazing how much music can affect a person's life. i have never seen them in person-- and probably never will-- but i am glad i can put in a cd-- and lose it all for a while....

Hi, I've waited a long time for a gig of the Cranes. neerpelt open air made it happen again. my friends and I totally melted by your sound. later I saw the neerpelt-special on tv but the sound wasn't as good then. that was a cool show. too bad about the acoustic-guitar though. a couple of years ago there was some sort of annual Cranes-gig at the effenaar in Eindhoven, the Netherlands usually in december.. I wonder why that time is gone. why don't you play there the 19th.. after the Brussels-show. or sometime in the fall. something Else; it is very hard to get a hold of your cd's in the stores. where can I buy them? keep on doing that what you do so well.

been a fan since wings of joy and a fan of alison's when she played live opening for the cure. i bought the new album, future songs. this is the best album yet. i finally found a copy at hmv records in toronto for 40 dollars. it was the most i ever paid for a cd. but didn't mean much since this was the only cd i wanted to buy since i heard it was coming out. hoping to see the cranes in concert again in toronto, canada. keep up the great work. nice to know beautiful music still exists in this dried up music season.

i got forever thru a strange way, one of my mentalpatients recommended them for me, after i gave her a check on Tool, she liked the disturbness in the music, and she told me about cranes, uhuh, i just said, not very optimistic, but i gave it a try, and really fell for it, its fucking great excuse my language. She said it makes her sane in a insane way:))
dont know if thats a compliment that u want to hear, but its so layback and very disturbing, i find new things on this record every time i listen to it, so i thought, hey i got to check this band out, and here i am.
cant see u in arvika swe, so u have to take sweden by storm without me:))
rest ur trigger on my finger

Future Songs is really gorgeous. Great engineering, production, and mastering, too. I can tell a lot of love went into making it.

I have been a fan of Cranes since I first heard you on a John Peel session before you even realsed your first single and have always stuck by your work as I was just so blown away by Alisons voice. I love the new album and it feels like an old friend has come back from the wilderness to see me. Don't be strangers and come play Nottingham soon.
Lots of love
Martin

Thanks for this fantastic new album! it's great and very beautiful. i hope that you'll come back to germany very soon.

best wishes,
Andreas

-> it's unfair to download an album, to hear it but not to pay for it if you like it! a cd worth hearing is a cd worth buying!
