Actually the label is much more recent than the song...

maybe it has something to do with the dada movement in arts that exploited, among other things, the concept of nonsense. The word representing this cultural movement, "dada", was itself chosen randomly from the Larousse dictionary. Dada in French is a child's word for hobby-horse. In French the colloquialism, "c'est mon dada", means it's my hobby.

Curiosity (or maybe not): Dadaism had some mentors that published some writings, called manifestos. One of them, Francis Picabia, created one time a publication simply called "391". One other, Tristan Tzara, edit a magazine just called... Dadaphone.

So maybe, just maybe, dada 331 is somehow based on some stuff of that, with nonsense guiding the logic of all that

Cheers

Can't shed any light on the 331, but, speaking of obscure titles, why is it "e.g shining"

To me, if e.g doesn't mean "for example", it can only be the name of a long-defunct record label (!) but what does that have to do with the song? This e.g must stand for somethimg else - anyone know what?
